10 Magnetic Playwall Activities Toddlers Love

10 Magnetic Playwall Activities Toddlers Love - MagPlay

Once we set up our MagPlay Wall, I was amazed how many different ways one magnetic surface could keep my toddler busy. Here are ten magnetic playwall activities we genuinely come back to — all using magnets on the wall (or the fridge, if you're just starting out).

1. Magnetic drawing on the wall

Top of the list because it's the one she reaches for daily. Our MagPlay Wall means she can draw standing up, big and bold, then wipe it clean and start again.

2. Animal parades

A handful of animal magnets and suddenly there's a zoo marching across the wall. Brilliant for naming, sounds and made-up stories.

3. Sorting fruit and veggies

We use the Fruit & Vegetable set to sort by colour, by "grows on a tree vs in the ground," or just by what she'd actually eat. Sneaky learning, zero complaints.

4. Morning routine charts

Magnets for "teeth, dressed, breakfast, shoes." It's turned our chaotic mornings into a game she's weirdly proud of.

5. Letter hunts

I call out a letter, she finds it and slaps it on the wall. Early literacy disguised as a race.

6. Weather station

Each morning she picks the magnet for today's weather. Tiny ritual, big sense of ownership.

7. Counting games

"Can you put five magnets in a row?" Simple, endlessly repeatable, and it grows with her.

8. Storytelling scenes

She builds a scene on the wall and narrates it. Language, sequencing and imagination all at once.

9. Colour treasure hunts

Find something red in the room, bring it to the wall. Gets the wiggles out and keeps her thinking.

10. Quiet "wall time"

The one I didn't expect: sometimes she just… potters at the wall on her own while I get five minutes. That, frankly, is the real magic of a magnetic playwall.

None of these need a screen or a fancy playroom — just a magnetic surface and a bit of imagination. If you're just starting out, an animal magnet set on the fridge is a lovely way in; for a dedicated space, the MagPlay Wall or Wall + Board Bundle is where it really comes alive.
